Rico Dowdle Dealing With Hip Contusion
1 year agoDallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Monday that running back Rico Dowdle (hip) is dealing with a hip contusion, which is a deep bruise. Dowdle left the Week 4 blowout win over the New England Patriots in the second quarter. It's good news for Dowdle, as he'll avoid a prolonged absence, but it remains to be seen if he'll be available in a Week 5 showdown against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. The 25-year-old had three carries for nine yards and caught his only target for an eight-yard gain before leaving on Sunday. Dallas will likely play it safe with him after he missed all of 2021 with a fracture to the same hip. If he's forced to miss any time, rookie Deuce Vaughn will serve as Tony Pollard's direct backup.
