Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams went down with an injury early in the second quarter of this Week 4 matchup with the Chicago Bears. Williams was initially considered questionable to return with a hip injury before being ruled out for the game.
When he returns to action, he's likely to be thrust right back into the starting role, so fantasy managers are surely wondering when he will return.
Is Williams injured or healthy? Will he play in Week 5 against the New York Jets? Let's dive in.

Javonte Williams Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The story surrounding Williams coming into the season was how long it would take him to return from his torn ACL sustained in Week 4 of last season. Some believed Williams would begin the season on the PUP list, but instead, he suited up for a preseason game and showed how healthy he was.
Sustaining a severe injury, like a torn ACL, can make players lose a step or two when they return, but they can usually build back up as the season progresses. Through four weeks, Williams has looked better each week and has shown that he can sustain the starter workload in the Broncos offense.
The good news is the hip injury Williams sustained in Sunday's contest is believed to be a minor injury. Williams' hip flexor should not force him to miss an extended period of time.
Javonte Williams Fantasy Football Outlook
If Williams returns in Week 5, he'll have opportunities against a Jets defense that has been tough against the run for the last few years.
In Williams' absence, Broncos rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin stepped up. The rookie had seven carries for 72 yards, three receptions for 32 yards, and a receiving touchdown. If Williams is forced to miss a game or two because of the hip injury, McLaughlin could step right into the starting role and possibly keep it.
Williams' injury status should be monitored throughout the week, but the expectation is he should be able to go in Week 5. The Jets defense is a tough matchup for running backs, but Williams' involvement in the passing game means he could still be a viable play in a week with four teams on bye.
Fantasy managers should be relieved that the injury is not severe but should also look to pick up McLaughlin as an insurance policy.
