Jarred Kelenic Taking A Seat Monday Versus Lefty
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic is not in the starting lineup Monday night against the Oakland A's and left-hander JP Sears. The youngster went 0-for-2 before being replaced by a pinch-hitter in Sunday's series finale and will predictably sit against same-handed pitching on Monday in Oakland. Kelenic recently returned from a broken foot sustained when he kicked a water cooler in the dugout and has three hits, all singles, and a walk across 16 plate appearances since getting back into the fold. For the season, the 24-year-old has hit .249 with 11 home runs, 12 stolen bases, and a .745 OPS across 378 plate appearances. His power and speed should make him an attractive fantasy target next spring.
