1 year agoThe Cleveland Guardians placed right-hander Tanner Bibee (hip) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with right-hip inflammation and recalled reliever James Karinchak from the minors in a corresponding move. Bibee's fantastic rookie season will come to an end with a 2.98 ERA (3.52 FIP), 1.18 WHIP, 45 walks and 141 strikeouts in 142 innings over 25 starts. He finished with a win-loss record of 10-4 for Cleveland. The 24-year-old's hip injury occurred in his last start on Saturday against the Texas Rangers when he allowed just one earned run on five hits while walking none and striking out four in 5 1/3 innings for a no-decision. Both Shane Bieber (elbow) and Triston McKenzie (elbow) are nearing their returns and could take Bibee's spot in the starting rotation to close out the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
