Luke Raley Comes Up Clutch For Rays
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Luke Raley finished Thursday's game 2-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored in the team's 4-3 victory over the division-rival Baltimore Orioles, with his home run in the seventh inning being the difference-maker. It was nice to see from Raley, who hadn't cleared the fences in 15 games. Overall, the 28-year-old left-handed slugger has had a breakout 2023 with 19 home runs, 49 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 56 runs scored in 354 at-bats while slashing .251/.336/.494 with an .830 OPS in just his third big-league season. However, he's struggled at the plate so far in the season's final month, going 8-for-38 (.211) with the one home run, two doubles, three RBI, 14 strikeouts, one steal and three runs scored in 13 games (11 starts).
