Red Sox Fire Chaim Bloom Thursday
1 year agoThe Boston Red Sox fired chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom on Thursday after he was with the team for nearly four full seasons. The Red Sox made it to the American League Championship Series once with Bloom under control, but they also had a pair of last-place finishes and they will not make the postseason again in 2023. The 40-year-old joined Boston after they fired general manager Dave Dombrowski in September of 2019, a year after the organization won their fourth World Series title in 15 years. Months after his arrival, Bloom traded All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Although Boston didn't have much success in the standings during Bloom's tenure, he was responsible for improving their farm system significantly.
