This past offseason, tight end Dalton Schultz signed a one-year, $6.25 million deal with the Houston Texans. Schultz spent five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He was a productive tight end for the Cowboys and developed great chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott. The Texans signed him in order to make him a reliable target for the quarterback they were going to draft.
The Texans drafted C.J. Stroud, and he started in Week 1 alongside Schultz. Unfortunately, the team lost their season opener to the Baltimore Ravens, and Schultz didn't have a great game. The 27-year-old tight end is currently dealing with a quad injury, and that puts his status for Week 2 in jeopardy.

Will Dalton Schultz Play In Week 2?
Dalton Schultz was limited in practice on Wednesday as the coach didn't want to risk his health going into Week 2. However, it is expected that the quad issue is not that serious and he will be able to play in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Had the injury been serious, Schultz wouldn't have practiced at all. As a result, fantasy managers who have the Texans tight end on their team shouldn't be worried about dropping him from their teams for now.
Is Dalton Schultz Worth Starting In Week 2?
The Texans will face the Colts in Week 2, who also lost their first game of the season. The Colts do not have a great defense, and if Stroud finds his feet, he could connect with Schultz much more than he did in Week 1.
Against the Ravens, Schultz had only two receptions on four targets for just four yards. It was an extremely disappointing performance for the tight end, but playing alongside a rookie quarterback can result in such outcomes at the start of the season.
For Week 2, the former Cowboys player could be used as a TE2 in your lineups, as he could have a pretty good game. The last 10 games between the Texans and the Colts have been fairly high-scoring, apart from 2021, where the Colts were completely dominant in both games.
