David Montgomery - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
1 year agoDetroit Lions running back David Montgomery looked the clear lead ball carrier in the team's Week 1 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The 26-year-old rushed 21 times for 74 yards and a touchdown, while rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs had just nine total touches. While Gibbs is likely to eat into Montgomery's workload as the season progresses, Montgomery is a strong play in fantasy lineups until further notice. Detroit's Week 2 opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, allowed 92 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns against the mediocre Rams' offensive line, so Detroit's offensive line might have its way in this contest. The Lions are expected to put up plenty of points in this Week 2 contest, and Montgomery should at least continue to be the primary goal line runner. Start him with confidence.
