Jorge Polanco Back From Bereavement List
1 year agoMinnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco was activated from the bereavement list on Wednesday and is back in the starting lineup to take on the visiting Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Taj Bradley. The Twins sent infielder Gilberto Celestino back to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Polanco will return to the lineup after missing the last three games. The switch-hitting 30-year-old Dominican has played in only 68 games this year due to injuries and is hitting .260 (66-for-254) with 12 home runs, 15 doubles, 41 RBI, four stolen bases and 31 runs scored in 290 plate appearances. So far in the month of September, he's gone 8-for-30 (.267) with two home runs, a double, five RBI, a stolen base and seven runs scored in eight starts.
