Russell Wilson Underwhelms In Season Opener
1 year agoDenver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson completed 27 of his 34 pass attempts in the season-opening loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders and also threw a pair of touchdown passes, but he was otherwise very quiet and overall was a fantasy disappointment in his first game with new head coach Sean Payton. Wilson was without top wideout Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) and also lost tight end Greg Dulcich (leg) during the game, so perhaps that's why he struggled to get anything going down the field through the air. His TD passes were to Courtland Sutton and Lil'Jordan Humphrey, each from five-yards out in the red zone. Hopefully, Denver's offense can improve when both Jeudy and Dulcich are healthy, but this wasn't a great start against a very mediocre defense, at best. The 34-year-old will be a QB2 in Week 2 against a better Washington Commanders defense.
