Is Rhamondre Stevenson Playing In Week 1?
Stevenson popped up on the injury report Friday after missing practice due to a stomach bug. Officially, the team says he is questionable to play on Sunday due to an illness.
Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports that Stevenson, despite being listed as questionable, is expected to play in Week 1.
Should I Start Rhamondre Stevenson In Fantasy Football?
Unless Stevenson's illness lingers late into the weekend, the 24-year-old running back will play as the Patriots take on the reigning NFC champions.
As a result, Stevenson should be started in all fantasy leagues this week. He emerged as a dominant back and potential league-winner last year, racking up 1,040 rushing yards, 421 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. The Oklahoma product ultimately finished as the RB7 in PPR leagues after developing into one of the league's most exciting dual-threat backs.
While the Patriots did sign Ezekiel Elliott this offseason, he is more of a change-of-pace back than he is a threat. He'll log some snaps when Stevenson needs a breather or the Patriots want to present a different look, but for the most part, this is Stevenson's backfield and he's going to get a hefty workload this weekend.
Fire up Stevenson in all leagues. He's a solid RB2 whose pass-catching prowess gives him RB1 upside on a weekly basis.
