Matt Manning's Season Over After Fracturing His Foot
1 year agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Matt Manning's (foot) 2023 season will come to an end after he suffered a fractured right foot during his start on Wednesday against the New York Yankees when he was hit in the foot by a scorching line drive off the bat of outfielder Giancarlo Stanton in the first inning. The good news is that the injury is to a different part of his foot that he injured last time. The 26-year-old hurler will finish up his 2023 season with a 3.58 ERA with just 50 strikeouts in 78 innings pitched over 15 starts for the Tigers in his third year in the big leagues. Manning should be fully healthy in time for the start of spring training in 2024.
