Mike Evans Healthy Heading Into Week 1
1 year agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (groin) wasn't listed with an injury designation on the team's first injury report of the year on Wednesday. Evans didn't play in the team's preseason finale as a precaution due to a groin injury, but it obviously wasn't a very serious injury and he'll be locked and loaded for Week 1 action this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. The 30-year-old All-Pro is entering what could be his final year with the team if the two sides don't reach a long-term contract extension by Sunday. Evans has reached the 1,000-yard mark in all nine of his NFL campaigns in Tampa, but that streak is in real danger now that he'll be taking passes from quarterback Baker Mayfield and not Tom Brady. Consider Evans a touchdown-dependent WR3/flex heading into the 2023 season opener.
