Los Angeles Angels superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani has missed the past two games for the franchise due to right oblique tightness. Last month, Ohtani suffered a UCL tear in his arm, and it was revealed that he would not pitch again this season.
Major doubts began creeping into the minds of people around the world about whether he would be able to pitch again in his career. Although a discussion about Ohtani having Tommy John surgery was held, the player and his representatives decided to play this season out.
In this article, we will discuss how long the Japanese player is out, as many fantasy managers still want him to contribute with the bat for their teams.

When Will Shohei Ohtani Return To Play?
As stated earlier, Ohtani has already missed two games, both of them against the Baltimore Orioles. However, it is believed that the 29-year-old Angels player will play on September 6 in the third game of the series against the AL East leaders.
He will play as a DH for the rest of the season, and these last few games might be the last of his career with the Angels. The AL West franchise tried their best to make a push for the playoffs by being aggressive on the trade deadline, but unfortunately, it hasn't gone their way.
Both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani have missed time with injuries, resulting in absolute chaos for them. Hopefully, Ohtani will be able to entertain the Angels fans in the remaining games before he hits free agency after the season. In his last seven games, he has batted .240 while accumulating six hits, three RBI, and no home runs.
Will Shohei Ohtani Pitch Next Season?
As per recent reports, Shohei Ohtani's agent, Nez Balelo, has confirmed that the player will not have Tommy John surgery. However, he will still go through an arm procedure, which likely means he won't pitch next season.
This will likely have an impact on the amount of money that he receives in free agency, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Currently, the Dodgers are seen as the most likely landing spot for him.
