Lucas Giolito Hit Hard In Cleveland Debut
1 year agoCleveland Guardians right-hander Lucas Giolito was shelled in a 20-6 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Monday. Making his first start for Cleveland, Giolito allowed nine runs on seven hits over three innings while striking out three and walking three. He served up three homers, including a grand slam to third baseman Royce Lewis, in the disastrous outing. Giolito has struggled for much of the season and now has a 7-12 record, 4.88 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 168 strikeouts across 156 2/3 innings of work. He will look to regroup in his next start, which comes on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels.
