Matt McLain Out 2-3 More Weeks
1 year agoCincinnati Reds manager David Bell said that rookie infielder Matt McLain (oblique) will be out two to three more weeks. It shouldn't come as a big surprise, as oblique strains can be very tough to come back from. The 24-year-old was put on the injured list on Monday with a right-oblique strain and now won't have very much time at all to contribute to fantasy lineups the rest of the way. It's a shame, as he was really impressive in his first major-league season with .290/.357/.507 slash line with an .864 OPS, 16 home runs, 50 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 65 runs scored in his first 89 games in Cincy. Until Jonathan India (foot) is able to make it back, Spencer Steer should continue to see most of the playing time at second base for the Reds.
