Jurickson Profar Back With Padres On Minor-League Deal
1 year agoThe San Diego Padres signed free-agent outfielder Jurickson Profar to a minor-league deal on Friday. He's expected to report to Triple-A El Paso, but he's certainly a candidate to be called up now that rosters are expanding to 28 players on Friday. Profar became a free agent when he was released by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday after hitting .236/.316/.364 with eight home runs in 111 games after signing a $7.75 million deal in 2023. He initially opted out of a deal with the Padres that included a $7.75 million player option for 2023 and a $10 million mutual option for 2024. The switch-hitter batted .244/.333/.375 with 26 homers in 345 games with the Padres from 2020 to 2021.
