Dalvin Cook To Be Jets' Leading Rusher?
1 year agoESPN's Dan Graziano thinks that New York Jets running back Dalvin Cook could be the team's leading rusher in the first half of the season. The Jets still have big plans for Breece Hall (knee), and the expectation is that Hall will be the backfield leader by the end of 2023. However, he's also being eased in from a torn ACL suffered in his rookie campaign. The primary reason the Jets signed Cook was to take pressure off Hall's recovery timetable. New York also views Cook as an ideal runner in their offense, as well as a receiver who can make big plays. Graziano thinks Cook will open the year as something close to a three-down back at least through September while the Jets gradually increase Hall's workload. Hall's fantasy value definitely took a hit when the Jets signed Cook, although it doesn't mean managers should completely avoid him in upcoming drafts.
