Jarred Kelenic Starting Rehab Assignment
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic (foot) was sent to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday to start a minor-league rehab assignment. Kelenic is trying to return after fracturing his left foot while kicking a water cooler in the dugout in frustration around six weeks ago. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter could be back with the M's by next week as long as he doesn't suffer a setback with his foot while playing in minor-league games. The post-hype prospect was having his best major-league season before breaking his foot, slashing .252/.320/.439 with 11 home runs, 24 doubles, two triples, 45 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 43 runs scored in 90 games played. Fantasy managers will want to scoop him up off the waiver wire if he was dropped following his injury.
