Mickey Moniak Out With Back Injury
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mickey Moniak (back) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Luis Rengifo is trying his hand at center field and will bat second, while Brandy Drury starts at the keystone and hits cleanup for the Angels against Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. Moniak left Tuesday's game prematurely due to back soreness and he'll now sit out on Wednesday, but he should be considered day-to-day moving forward. With a day off coming on Thursday, hopefully he'll be back in action on Friday for the start of a series against the Oakland Athletics. The 25-year-old has had by far the best year of his career in his first full year in Anaheim in 2023, hitting .281 (80-for-285) with 13 home runs, 41 RBI, six stolen bases and 32 runs scored in 78 games.
