1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman is getting a day of rest on Tuesday against the visiting San Diego Padres. With Edman on the bench, Nolan Gorman will start at second base and bat third for the Cardinals against Padres right-hander Seth Lugo. Richie Palacios will play center field and bat leadoff. The switch-hitting Edman has gone 24-for-99 (.242) in the month of August with four home runs, six doubles, a triple, nine RBI, 16 strikeouts, three stolen bases and 12 runs scored in 25 starts. He's an everyday player for St. Louis and has provided a decent mix of power and speed with 11 home runs and 17 stolen bases in a utility role in 2023 in 373 at-bats. Gorman will give DFS gamers a decent power option, as he's clubbed 24 long balls and driven in 67 runs this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
