Javonte Williams Injury Update
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) has made a quick recovery from his torn ACL in Week 4 of last season. The 23-year-old was cleared for contact at the start of training camp and has already seen preseason action.
However, Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi indicated his workload could be limited a bit at the start of the season before settles into a more expanded role, according to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette. The organization likely wants to be cautious with its young back, meaning Samaje Perine could see a meaningful workload to begin the first few weeks of the 2023 campaign. Based on this information, Williams will be a risky Week 1 fantasy option against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jeff Wilson Jr. and De'Von Achane Injury Update
Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (undisclosed) did not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's worth noting Raheem Mostert (undisclosed) was questionable to play but did suit up. De'Von Achane (shoulder) remained out.
We know nothing about Mostert's injury and very little about Wilson's, other than the fact that he left practice early on Aug. 9 and hasn't played in a single preseason game. Miami is keeping things close to the vest, but it doesn't seem like he's dealing with anything major. Achane could be at risk of missing Week 1.
Jordan Mason Injury Update
San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason has been diagnosed with a sprained foot and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, according to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press. Mason was trending towards securing a roster spot and likely still will, but his availability for Week 1 is less certain.
The 24-year-old logged 258 yards and one touchdown as a rookie last year. As long as Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell remain on the field, Mason has no appeal in redraft leagues.
