Jake Fraley Close To Rehab Games
1 year agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Jake Fraley (toe) has joined Triple-A Louisville for a series of workouts, and if that goes well, he is scheduled to play a pair of minor-league rehab games from Aug. 29-30 before a potential activation from the injured list. Fraley is attempting to return from a stress fracture in his left fourth toe, and if all goes well during his rehab assignment, he could return to the Reds for the start of September in a pivotal series against the Chicago Cubs. The 28-year-old is going to need offseason surgery on his toe, but he's hoping he can play through the injury the rest of the 2023 season. Fraley has been a solid source of power and speed in his second year in Cincinnati, slugging 15 home runs, driving in 63 runs and stealing 20 bases in 92 games.
