Jaxon Smith-Njigba A Long Shot For Week 1?
1 year agoSeattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) has a three- to four-week timetable to recover from a slight fracture in his wrist that he suffered in last weekend's preseason game, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is saying it sounds like Smith-Njigba is a long shot to be ready for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Pete Carroll has a reputation for being overly optimistic with injuries, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if the impressive rookie isn't ready to go for the start of the regular season. The 21-year-old first-round pass-catcher will be the team's No. 3 wideout behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett when healthy, making him an upside WR3/4 pick in upcoming fantasy drafts, despite the injury.
