Mike Trout Injury Update
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) has been officially activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. The superstar outfielder was back in the lineup after being sidelined since July 5 due to left hamate fracture.
Prior to Tuesday's contest, Trout was slashing .263/.309/.493 with 18 home runs and 44 RBI in 81 games. The hope is that the wrist injury doesn't impact his swing going forward. Fantasy managers should make sure to get Trout back in their lineups.
Julio Rodriguez Injury Update
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (illness) was a late scratch from Tuesday's 6-3 win over the White Sox due to a stomach bug, per Seattle Times' Ryan Divish. Rodriguez also sat Monday, but this was a routine day off.
Hopefully, he can get back into the lineup Wednesday, as he and the whole lineup have been on a hot streak. The 22-year-old has stepped things up lately, bringing his season stat line to .278/.336/.462 with 21 home runs, 79 RBI, and 33 stolen bases.
Yordan Alvarez Injury Update
Houston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (finger) was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup against the Boston Red Sox. Alvarez is dealing with an injured left index finger after he reportedly slammed it in a door on Tuesday.
The organization is considering the injury as minor. The expectation is that Alvarez is going to return to action on Wednesday.
Ozzie Albies Injury Update
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (hamstring) is not expected to need to go on a rehab assignment, according to manager Brian Snitker. Albies tweaked his hamstring on August 13 and landed on the injured list but has made a fast recovery and could be ready to rejoin Atlanta's lineup on Friday when he's first eligible to be reinstated.
Albies is hitting .268 with 17 homers, 36 runs, 53 RBI, and three steals across 73 games in 2023.
J.D. Martinez Injury Update
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder J.D. Martinez (groin) is going to be sidelined for multiple weeks, according to manager Dave Roberts. The team expects Martinez to miss 2-to-3 weeks of action after being placed on the injured list Tuesday afternoon.
The veteran outfielder has been dealing with a lingering groin and hamstring issue for quite some time. The Dodgers have decided to completely shut down Martinez from baseball activities for a week. Michael Busch figures to get a legitimate chance on the Dodgers roster while Martinez is out.
Jose Abreu Injury Update
Houston Astros first baseman Jose Abreu (back) is hopeful to return from the injured list on Thursday, according to manager Dusty Baker. It was reported that Abreu hasn't resumed swinging a bat as of Friday.
That being said, it'd be a bit surprising that Abreu would be activated this quickly. Possibly, the 36-year-old started making good progress over the weekend. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Thursday for more information.
Javier Baez Injury Update
Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez (illness) was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup against the Chicago Cubs. The 30-year-old is feeling under the weather, so the team held him out of Tuesday's contest.
The expectation is that this will be a one-game absence, but fantasy managers will have to check back for his latest status update.
