Jaxon Smith-Njigba Could Miss Time
1 year agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) needs surgery to repair a "slight fracture" suffered during Saturday's preseason meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. There are reports the procedure had already taken place. However, it hasn't, with the rookie flying to Philadelphia on Tuesday to see a specialist. Although the team is optimistic Smith-Njiba will be ready for Week 1, head coach Pete Carroll indicated the wideout might miss "3-4 weeks." Smith-Njigba, the 2023 No. 20 overall selection, has played well throughout the preseason, totaling six catches for 83 yards to the tune of 13.8 YPC. While there could be good news surrounding the 21-year-old, nobody knows how things will look until he goes under the knife, which is expected to be in the coming days.
