Dodgers Call Up Michael Busch
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infield prospect Michael Busch from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday to take the roster spot of designated hitter J.D. Martinez (groin), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Busch, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, struggled in his first 15 big-league games earlier this year, going 9-for-45 (.200) with no homers, three doubles, four RBI, 16 strikeouts and six runs scored in 51 trips to the plate. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter has batted .323 (114-for-353) with 24 home runs, 82 RBI, three steals and 76 runs scored in 88 games for Oklahoma City in 2023. Between second base and DH, Busch could see a decent amount of at-bats for a potent Dodgers lineup, making him worth a waiver-wire pickup in deeper fantasy leagues for the time being.
