Falcons Put Matt Hennessy On Injured Reserve
1 year agoThe Atlanta Falcons placed offensive lineman Matt Hennessy (knee) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Hennessy, who has started 22 games on the interior of the team's offensive line in the last three years, has been out of practice since July 28 due to a knee injury. The 25-year-old was expected to compete for the left guard job at training camp, but now second-round rookie Matthew Bergeron is the favorite to earn a starting gig in his first NFL season. Hennessy was taken in the third round in 2020 and is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2024 season. Hennessy has been dealing with lingering knee issues for the last two years.
