Tim Anderson's Suspension Reduced To Five Games
1 year agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson's six-game suspension handed down by the league for his actions in a brawl with the Cleveland Guardians on Aug. 5 has been reduced to five games after he settled with the league before a hearing was needed, according to sources. Anderson will begin serving the suspension on Friday. He'll miss the entire three-game series this weekend in Colorado and also the first two games of the series against the Seattle Mariners that starts on Monday. Expect to see veteran Elvis Andrus fill in for Anderson at shortstop the next five games. The 30-year-old Anderson has had a tough year and has just one home run while batting just .238 (88-for-370), but he has looked better at the plate in the second half.
