Carlos Correa Sitting Due To Soreness
1 year agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (foot), who has played with plantar fasciitis for months, woke up on Wednesday sore after an infield single on Tuesday night. As a result, he is not playing on Wednesday against the visiting Detroit Tigers. The Twins will take advantage of their off day on Thursday to get Correa off his feet until the start of a series on Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Outfielder Michael Taylor and catcher Ryan Jeffers are also sitting out for the Twins. Kyle Farmer is starting at the 6 and is hitting ninth against Tigers right-hander Reese Olson on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Correa has 15 home runs, 54 RBI and 44 runs scored in 108 games this year, and he's also hitting a very disappointing .231 (96-for-416), well below his career average of .274.
