1 year agoHouston Astros first baseman Jose Abreu (back) remains out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The veteran slugger missed Thursday's game due to lower back discomfort. It appears this issue is still bothering him, so he'll miss at least one more game. This seems like a day-to-day type of issue, but Abreu could be placed on the injured list, assuming the injury lingers. In the meantime, Jon Singleton will cover first base and bat seventh versus left-hander Reid Detmers on Friday.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
