Nico Collins Catches One Pass In Thursday’s Preseason Game
1 year agoHouston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 13 and missed the final five games of the 2022 season. But Collins has been fully healthy this offseason. With Brandin Cooks' departure, the 6-foot-4 wideout is trying to emerge as the team's new WR1. In Thursday's first preseason game against the New England Patriots, Collins caught his only target for eight yards. The third-year wide receiver has reportedly been rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud's favorite target through training camp, which could bode well for his fantasy value. The Texans drafted the wideout in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft, and the team hopes to see Collins break out in his third NFL season. But it might be hard to rely on him in fantasy in 2023, given Houston's crowded wide receiver room and a rookie quarterback likely throwing to him. However, Collins could still be worth a late-round pick in most leagues this season because of a potential breakout year. His ADP at RotoBaller is 177.5.
