Kyle Schwarber Homers Twice In First Game Of Doubleheader
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber had a big game in an 8-4 win over the visiting Washington Nationals in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, two runs scored and a strikeout. In Game 2, a 5-4 loss for the Phillies, Schwarber went 0-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a strikeout. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger has been great for power (30 homers on the year) and run production (72 RBI), but you'll have to live with him killing your team batting average. Schwarber is hitting just .183 (77-for-420) in 2023 with a league-leading 149 strikeouts in 510 trips to the plate. The two-time All-Star has gone 16-for-89 (.180) since the All-Star break with eight homers, two doubles, 23 RBI and 32 K's in 25 starts.
