Luke Schoonmaker Working His Way Back
1 year agoDallas Cowboys rookie tight end Luke Schoonmaker (foot) took part in a more full training camp practice on Tuesday and also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Will Grier. Schoonmaker was finally activated from the Non-Football Injury list in camp on Monday and is starting to do more on the field just a day later. The 24-year-old had been sidelined with a partial tear of his plantar fasciitis in his foot. While he was out, second-year tight end Jake Ferguson cemented himself as the team's No. 1 tight end, but Schoonmaker will eventually have a chance to earn more playing in his first NFL season now that Dalton Schultz is in Houston. Still, Ferguson is the better fantasy bet in 2023 as a low-end TE2 streaming option in deeper fantasy leagues.
