1 year agoChicago Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman (hip) is set to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday. Stroman was placed on the injured list last week with a hip injury, but he could be back in the Cubs starting rotation when he's eligible to return on Aug. 16. It sounds as if the 32-year-old veteran may not even need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to the team, which is great news for fantasy managers that have been riding him this year. Stroman wasn't effective in six starts in July, allowing 28 runs (27 earned) on 34 hits while walking 15 and striking out 26 in 26 2/3 innings, and perhaps it had something to do with his hip injury. Fantasy managers will be hoping he can return and pitch more like he did in the first half of the season down the stretch.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
