1 year agoWashington Wizards forward Deni Avdija (elbow) has decided to skip the upcoming World Cup. This news comes after the team barred him from participating while he manages a hip issue. He missed the final few games of the regular season due to an elbow injury, but this hip problem sounds new. Possibly, the Wizards are just playing it safe with their 22-year-old forward. The expectation is that Avdija will be fine by the time the preseason rolls around. He could have a bigger role on the rebuilding Wizards roster next season.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
