Shohei Ohtani Leaves Start Early With Cramps
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels right-hander Shohei Ohtani (hand, fingers) left his start early on Thursday night against the Seattle Mariners with cramping in his right hand and fingers. Cramps have plagued Ohtani a few times in recent weeks, although before he had been dealing with leg cramps. The good news is he's staying in the game as the team's designated hitter, but it's something that should concern the Angels and fantasy managers moving forward. The 29-year-old two-way superstar might be getting to a point where his body is beginning to break down. He was solid on the mound in four innings before departing, allowing no runs on three hits while walking one and striking out four to lower his season ERA to 3.32. Until further notice, he remains a must-start in fantasy lineups as a pitcher and hitter.
