Marcus Stroman Not Expected To Miss Much Time
1 year agoChicago Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman (hip), who was put on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with right-hip inflammation, received a cortisone shot and isn't expected to miss much time, according to manager David Ross. "He's still only going to miss one start with the off days we have, and he'll be able to work on some stuff with the time he's going to have down, so I thought it was an optimal time," Ross said. The 32-year-old allowed six runs in three innings in his last start against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, which was the third straight start in which he failed to get out of the fourth inning. Stroman said the hip injury has been affecting his mechanics, explaining he was "trying to do so much without my lower half." Hopefully with some rest, Stroman will be able to return and pick up where he left off earlier in the year. Keep him stashed in all fantasy leagues.
