Justin Turner Still Out Wednesday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox third baseman/designated hitter Justin Turner (heel) remains out of action on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. Masataka Yoshida will serve as the designated hitter and bat third again, with Jarren Duran in left field and hitting leadoff against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. Turner suffered a left-heel contusion on Monday and hasn't played since. With a scheduled off day for the team on Thursday, hopefully Turner can return to face the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. The 38-year-old veteran has been an RBI machine all year, but especially in the last two months. Overall, he's hitting .286/.356/.481 with an .837 OPS, 17 home runs, 71 RBI, four stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 391 at-bats.
