J.D. Martinez Taking A Seat Against Oakland
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez (hamstring) will retreat to the bench on Tuesday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. The Dodgers haven't revealed the results of Martinez's MRI exam after he was forced to depart Sunday's game early against the Cincinnati Reds with left-hamstring tightness, so fantasy managers should continue to consider the 35-year-old veteran All-Star as day-to-day. In his absence, Chris Taylor is the designated hitter and is batting sixth on Tuesday against A's left-hander Ken Waldichuk. There's definitely the potential for Martinez to land on the injured list, so prepare for that possibility. The six-time All-Star is having a resurgent season in his first year in LA with a .260 average (86-for-331) with 25 home runs, 75 RBI and 48 runs scored in 85 games for the Blue.
