Esteury Ruiz Triples In First Rehab Game
1 year agoOakland Athletics outfielder Esteury Ruiz (shoulder) went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run scored and a strikeout on Friday in his first minor-league rehab game with Triple-A Las Vegas. Ruiz played five innings in center field on defense. Expect the 24-year-old speedster to play in a few more rehab games with Vegas before the A's consider reinstating him from the injured list at some point early next week, barring any setbacks. Ruiz deserves to be stashed in all fantasy leagues for his speed, as the Dominican outfielder still currently leads all of baseball with 43 stolen bases in 51 attempts through 85 games with the A's. He's also hitting .257/.310/.329 with a homer, 19 doubles, a triple, 35 RBI and 33 runs scored in 369 plate appearances.
