Panthers Name Bryce Young The Starting QB
1 year agoCarolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich made it clear on Wednesday that rookie quarterback Bryce Young is the team's starting QB early in training camp. The No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft was going to be named the Week 1 starter sooner or later this summer, and the Panthers are making abundantly clear early in camp that the 22-year-old is their guy in 2023. Young has worked with the first-team offense since the start of organized team activities this spring, so this announcement shouldn't come as a total surprise. Veteran Andy Dalton will be the backup. Young will continue to build chemistry with his receivers in camp. While he has plenty of long-term upside, fantasy managers should expect the Alabama product to have his growing pains with a receiving corps that includes DJ Chark, Adam Thielen and Terrace Marshall Jr.
