1 year agoThe Chicago White Sox activated third baseman Yoan Moncada (back) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned catcher Carlos Perez to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The team also outrighted right-hander Bryan Shaw to Charlotte. Moncada immediately returned to third base and was hitting fifth in the batting order on Tuesday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks. The 28-year-old is back after missing six weeks with a back injury. It's hard for fantasy managers to get very excited about Moncada, as he's in the midst of another disappointing season thanks to two separate lengthy trips to the IL. In just 38 games, he's slashing .232/.279/.370 with three homers, eight doubles, a triple, 13 RBI and 17 runs scored in 147 plate appearances. Moncada's return is likely bad news for Jake Burger, although Burger shifted over to second base on Tuesday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
