Salvador Perez Dealing With Grade 1 Hamstring Strain
1 year agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1-plus left-hamstring strain, but the team is hoping that he can return to the starting lineup soon. Perez was forced from Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays with the injury, but it looks like he should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list. Still, fantasy managers must prepare for the worst, and it's possible that the 33-year-old All-Star catcher won't play again for another couple of games. With Perez out again on Monday, Freddy Fermin got the start behind the plate. Perez remains a must-start catcher in fantasy when he's in the lineup. He's hitting .258/.299/.444 on the season with 15 home runs, 40 RBI and 38 runs scored in 322 at-bats.
