Jordan Montgomery Penciled In To Start Tuesday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jordan Montgomery (hamstring) is penciled in to make his first start of the second half of the season on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins unless something unexpected happens during his bullpen session this weekend. The Cardinals will go with a bullpen game on Monday. The 30-year-old southpaw won't have to go on the injured list after leaving his final start of the first half early with a hamstring ailment. Montgomery will be a free agent after the 2023 season, making him a prime candidate to be moved at this year's trade deadline by the disappointing Red Birds. He has impressed in his first full year in St. Louis, going 6-7 with a 3.23 ERA (3.52 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, 27 walks and 96 strikeouts in 103 innings of work over 18 starts. Get him back into your lineups next week.
