1 year agoOakland Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that outfielder Esteury Ruiz (shoulder) is hitting off a tee and is "further along than I thought he would be." It's good news for Ruiz as the start of the second half of the season resumes on Friday, but there remains no timetable for his return after suffering a right-shoulder subluxation. Nevertheless, the MLB stolen base leader should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues while he's on the injured list. The 24-year-old speedster has been one of the few bright spots for the last-place A's in 2023, and he'll eventually return to a .257 average (86-for-334) with a homer, 19 doubles, a triple, 35 RBI, 43 stolen bases and 33 runs scored in 85 games in his first year with the A's.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
