Cristian Javier To Make His Next Start Sunday
1 year agoHouston Astros right-hander Cristian Javier is slated to make his first start of the second half of the season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. The Astros elected to skip Javier's last start before the All-Star break after he surrendered 18 earned runs on 21 hits (four homers) while walking six and striking out six over only 10 2/3 innings in his previous three starts. Hopefully, the extra time off will do the trick for the 26-year-old as he begins the second half of the season. Javier is currently 7-1 with a 4.34 ERA (4.26 FIP), 1.21 WHIP, 25 walks and 82 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings over 17 starts in 2023. Fantasy managers shouldn't give up on him just yet in mixed leagues.
