J.D. Martinez Heads Into The Break On A Homer Binge
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez has been on a tear at the plate recently, going deep in three of his last four games heading into this week's All-Star break. However, to begin the month of July, Martinez has gone only 6-for-31 (.194) with the three home runs, one double, six RBI, five runs scored and 11 strikeouts in eight games. The five-time All-Star has been a great source of power for fantasy managers in his first year with the Dodgers. Martinez is currently hitting .255 (73-for-286) with 22 home runs, 20 doubles, two triples, 62 RBI and 43 runs scored in 314 plate appearances and 73 games. If Martinez manages to stay healthy in the second half of 2023, he should easily reach the 30-homer mark for the first time since 2019.
