Sean Murphy On The Bench Against Rays
1 year agoAtlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays in the final game of the first half of the season. Murphy is getting a rest day, but not because he hasn't been producing at the plate. The 28-year-old backstop is off to a great start in July, going 8-for-18 (.444) in six games while homering in each of his last three contests. Murphy has been amazing for the Braves and fantasy managers so far in his first season in Atlanta, as he's slashing .306/.400/.599 with a .999 OPS, 17 long balls, 17 doubles, 55 RBI and 42 runs scored in 270 trips to the plate over 67 games. He's a must-start anytime he's on the field in fantasy. Travis d'Arnaud will do the catching on Sunday and hit fifth in the lineup against Rays right-hander Zach Eflin.
