1 year agoThe San Diego Padres placed right-hander Michael Wacha (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to July 2) on Tuesday with right-shoulder inflammation. In corresponding moves, the team recalled left-hander Jose Castillo, right-hander Matt Waldron and infielder Matthew Batten from Triple-A El Paso and optioned right-hander Domingo Tapia to El Paso. Wacha has been dealing with a shoulder problem for a bit now and had a start skipped before tossing five innings of one-run ball on July 1 against the Cincinnati Reds. The 32-year-old veteran has been fantastic for the Friars this year and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs since April 26. He's gone 8-2 with a 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 73 K's in 85 2/3 innings over 15 starts and needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
